Sharof Rashidovich Rashidov (November 6 (October 24 according to the old calendar) 1917 - October 31, 1983) - Soviet party and statesman, Uzbek writer, Hero of Socialist Labor (1974), leader of the Communist Party of the Uzbek SSR.

Member of the CPSU since 1939. Graduated from the Jizzakh Pedagogical College (1935), the Faculty of Philology of Samarkand State University (1941). Responsible secretary, deputy editor and editor of the Samarkand regional newspaper (1937–41,1943). Participant of World War II (November 1941 - 1942). Secretary of the Samarkand Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Uzbekistan (1944–47), editor of the newspaper "Kyzyl Uʻzbekiston" (1947–49), chairman of the board of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan (1949–50). Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of Uzbekistan (1950–59). 1st Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Uzbekistan (1959–83). Candidate for membership in the Politburo (Presidium) of the Central Committee of the CPSU (1961–83). 2 times Hero of Labor (1974, 1977).
